Bachelor of Science Completion in Respiratory Care with Clinical Practice Concentration
 
 

For over 30 years, Independence University, formerly California College for Health Sciences, has graduated more respiratory care professionals than any other private career college. Today, IU continues to meet the needs of respiratory therapists who wish to gain advanced education in their field through our Bachelor of Science Completion in Respiratory Care with Clinical Practice Concentration. To enroll in this program, you must be a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT). A minimum of 96 quarter credits beyond the associate's degree or equivalent is required for graduation with at least 24 quarter credits in general education.

 

With a track record of 30 years, IU is a leader in respiratory care distance education. From introductory to advanced levels, we have designed our program to address the licensing and practical needs of the respiratory care (RT) professional.

 

Graduates of the Bachelor of Science Completion in Respiratory Care with Clinical Practice Concentration program demonstrate:

  • General knowledge of science, social science, and language arts expected of someone who has earned a degree .
  • Functional knowledge and understanding of respiratory care theories and practice
  • Active participation in respiratory care as professionals in the field .
  • Practical knowledge and experience of professional interactions in the field.

The U.S. Department of Labor forecasts substantial growth in job opportunities for respiratory therapists. In addition to traditional hospital-related employment, a growing number of therapists will find work in home health care or the offices of other health practitioners. Median annual earnings for respiratory therapists (RRT) in May 2004 were $43,140. Median annual earnings for respiratory therapy technicians (CRT) were $36,740.
